Alonso leads the times on third test day

Fernando Alonso was the quickest man come the checkered flag on the third day of testing in Barcelona. He will hand the car over to Felipe Massa on Friday.

The Spaniard's time was just a few tenths slower than Sergio Perez's best in the McLaren on Tuesday.

Sauber's Nico Hulkenberg went second quickest as he tested the DRD (drag reduction device) on the C31. He finished ahead of Romain Grosjean for Lotus.

Williams opted to run Pastor Maldonado in the morning before handing the car to Valterri Bottas for the afternoon session, with the pair finishing just over a tenth apart.

Adrian Sutil got his first taste of a F1 car in over a year after getting back behind the wheel of a Force India. He went eighth quickest.

Giedo van der Garde rounded off the times with a lap just under half a second slower than Marussia's Max Chilton in 11th.
