The planned Russian Grand Prix, scheduled to join the calendar in 2014, will get a race date in November according to Sochi's mayor.
Anatoly Pakhomov told local broadcaster R-Sport that the race would take place after the 2014 Winter Olympics which are also being held in the city of Sochi - located on the Black Sea.
The date would see the event taking place toward the very end of the championship, likely the penultimate or final race of the season. It's likely it would take place after India and Abu Dhabi, but before Brazil, with the United States race in Austin being relocated to an earlier slot in the calendar to coincide with New Jersey and Canada.
One potential issue with a Russian race in November, although located on the same longitude as Italy, would be the temperature at that time of year. The average during the day is around 14ºC, but is known to drop into the minus figures, which would make it the coldest race by some distance.
