Lewis Hamilton says his aim next season will be to finish on the podium regularly with Mercedes.
The Brackley outfit failed to secure a podium finish during the final 12 races of the 2012 season, but Hamilton believes they will be capable of doing so.
"We all have to take risks in life," he said during a Vodafone event in Malta on Sunday. "Everyone has to have a change.
"It is about growing, doing something different and learning to communicate with new people. I know what I am doing."
He added: "The target next year has to be podium finishes."
Mercedes team principal Ross Brawn is a little more optimistic and believes the team can deliver a race winning car.
"Obviously we're working very hard to give both him and Nico [Rosberg] the opportunity to win and take pole positions. That's our ambition, our objective."
