Kubica tests rally car near accident site

Robert Kubica got behind the wheel of a rally car last Saturday, proving the Polish driver is making good progress with his recovery.

The former Renault driver was involved in a horrific accident last year during the Ronde di Andora rally. He later slipped on ice several months later, pushing his recovery back by several weeks.

The 27-year-old is still undergoing intense physiotherapy and rehabilitation to enable him to make a return to competitive motorsport, with Formula 1 being his ultimate aim.

The recent rally test in his own Renault Clio adorned with his 'RK' logo, just a few miles from the site of his original accident, reportedly went well with Kubica completing several runs.

Whilst the path to full recovery remains a long one, the test is positive news.

A video showing the car in action reportedly isn't of Kubica, but sources close to the driver confirm he did complete a few runs in the same car, but not at the same level.
